Beam House

Milwaukee, WI

Historic renovation of the 1870s-era Pfister & Vogel tannery warehouse into apartments. The Beam House and the other tannery buildings comprise the oldest buildings refurbished in Milwaukee and have solid timber beams and traditional cream city brick. In 2001 a fire destroyed much of the third through fifth floors, but the building was brought Back from the Brink, a Cream of the Cream City Award from the Milwaukee Historic Preservation Commission.
